------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cattle Drums (Oneonta, NY) are heading out for a two week Spring tour ahead of finishing recording on their debut LP, due out in the Fall of 2012 on Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, Restorations, CSTVT, Look Mexico). You can hear two early demos from the upcoming album at the Cattle Drums Bandcamp.

The band's debut LP will be the follow up to The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 EP which was released digitally on Tiny Engines in 2011. The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 is an eight song collection that put together the original debut of the band with three newer tracks that were recorded near the end of 2010. The EP can be downloaded for free here. Of course you can still download via iTunes as well.

You can sample the track "Who Punched Pat Moore's Face" on RCRD LBL. Additionally, you can listen to "Sluts And Coconuts" from The Boy Kisser Sessions + 3 (mp3)

Remember when indie music was wild and unpredictable? Remember when bands were hard to pigeonhole into neat little sub-genres? Well, Cattle Drums will remind you if you have forgotten. Hailing from upstate NY, you might shrug your shoulders at a band named Cattle Drums but you would be remiss by doing so. Mixing post-punk, emo/hardcore, shards of math rock and even traces of dark Americana, Cattle Drums distinguish themselves as purveyors of a sound not yet recognizable to our pampered, innocent ears. Lyrically ambiguous and instrumentally ambitious with harsh, aggressive tones, Cattle Drums truly are a wild awakening for the senses. These songs truly defy classification and open the listener up to create their own unique interpretation of the Cattle Drums sound. Need a shock to the system to break you from the mundane of the daily grind? Delve into the madness of the Cattle Drums experience and witness a band operating only by their keen sense of artistic expression. Eccentric and chaotic yet always melodic and intoxicating, Cattle Drums are kicking up dust and noise unlike anybody else right now. Just imagine what is yet to come.

The album is also available for early digital purchase here.

All pre-orders will be entered to win a test pressing of the record. There are also vinyl combo packs and vinyl + tee packages available.

You can hear a brand new song, "Choices" on Punknews.org. Also, "American Me" can be heard on Alternative Press as well. The band was recently named as one of Alternative Press' 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2012 along with fellow Tiny Engines labelmates, Signals Midwest (Issue #285).

Three years in the making, Red Collar's Welcome Home fulfills the promise of the band's acclaimed debut full-length, 2009's Pilgrim. Welcome Home continues the tradition of heart pounding indie punk & roll from the Durham, NC quartet but expands the palette with dynamic results. Red Collar combine the jagged rhythms of DC punk along with the soulful, working class spirit and lyrical bend of bands like The Hold Steady and The Gaslight Anthem. Never shying away from their influences, the band proudly displays the earnestness of Springsteen, the boldness of The Replacements and the swagger of The Clash firmly on their sleeves. All that you know and love about Red Collar remains but Welcome Home opens up into hauntingly beautiful songwriting territory that touches on the timelessness of Americana roots. Red Collar is back and they are better than ever! Welcome home indeed.

Red Collar will be playing Treasure Fest in Charlotte, NC later this month sandwiched in between a show with Less Than Jake and their LP release show in Durham with labelmates Restorations and Signals Midwest. The band will also be playing Death To False Hope Fest in June and are confirmed, once again, for The Fest in Gainesville in October.

Tiny Engines (Tigers Jaw, CSTVT, Look Mexico, Restorations) welcomed Providence, RI's Best Practices to its expanding roster earlier this year. The label is excited to announce the band's debut, The EP LP, is now available for pre-order on one-sided 12" vinyl. The 12" will see a June 19, 2012 release date. Also worth noting, all vinyl pre-orders come with an instant mp3 download for the 9-song album. The album is also available for early digital purchase here. You can stream the entire record on Bandcamp.

The The EP LP 12" vinyl is limited to 500 pressed on three colorways (75 Yellow / 175 Black w/ screened B-side / 250 Translucent Green). All pre-orders will be entered to win a test pressing of the record. There are also vinyl combo packs and vinyl + tee packages available.

Featuring current/former members of Light The Fuse And Run, Wow, Owls!, Weak Teeth and Jesuscentric, Best Practices is a return to the fundamentals of punk rock. On the band's Tiny Engines debut, The EP LP, the quartet lets loose a whirlwind of (garage power pop) punk fury. Recorded with Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Ampere) at Dead Air Studios, Best Practices pummel their way through 9 songs in 12 glorious minutes. The band comes close to careening off the edge at points but never seem to overtake themselves. Chock full of razor sharp hooks Best Practices lays down a furious gauntlet that is as catchy as it is exhausting. All your left with as The EP LP fires towards the finish line is the feeling that you just want to do it all over again.

Best Practices have some confirmed hometown shows upcoming and will be swinging South down to VA and back up through Philly in August (details to come). The band has also been confirmed for The Fest in Gainesville in October. Also, the band will be heading back into Dead Air Studios in late June/early July to record new material. Stay tuned!

NORTH CAROLINA VOTERS: VOTE AGAINST AMENDMENT ONE ON MAY 8, 2012.

Red Collar and Tiny Engines are offering a free download of “This House” from the band’s upcoming new record, Welcome Home, in exchange for a tweet against Amendment One. We are doing this as an incentive to get fans involved in the effort to defeat this amendment in NC, but a tweet is only a start. We need everyone to do more. Vote against Amendment One. Take people with you to vote against Amendment One. Call your family. Talk to your friends. Knock on doors. Give money. Whatever it takes. We can make this happen, but it’s up to you.

On September 13, 2011, the North Carolina Legislature proposed an amendment to the State Constitution that would ban legal recognition for all unmarried couples, strip protections and benefits from families across our state, hurt our business climate and economic development and put our children in danger. The actual text on the ballot will read, Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. If this amendment were to pass, it would be a huge step backwards for our state. The wording is too vague, the amendment is itself redundant, and, in short, it’s a cheap political stunt that will negatively impact many families and businesses. It will impose limits on the equal rights of every resident of North Carolina.

Nobody should be forced to defend their equal rights and that is why we in Red Collar are asking all of you to join us in voting against Amendment One. This is not just an issue for North Carolina, it’s an issue for us all. Even if you don’t live in North Carolina, you can still help by spreading this message.
